Asim Munir threatens to target Mukesh Ambani's Jamnagar refinery

After threatening to target an Indus River dam, Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir has now reportedly threatened to target Mukesh Ambani’s Jamnagar refinery in the event of any future conflict with India. The warning, seen as an escalation in rhetoric, comes amid already strained ties between India and Pakistan since the former conducted Operation Sindoor to eliminate terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK.

In a gathering in Tampa, Florida, in the United States, General Asim Munir cited a social media post that had a Quranic quote and image of RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani to state that he had approved it during the war with India to show them what we will do the next time, Times of India has said.

This is the second time that Asim Munir has threatened India from American soil. Asim Munir went on to state that Islamabad will protect its water rights at all costs if India goes ahead with dam building on the Indus River.

We will wait for India to construct a dam, and when they construct it, we will blow it up, Asim Munir said to members of the Pakistani-American community in Tampa, Florida, a report published Monday in Dawn said.

Asim Munir further declared that the Indus River is not the Indians' family property, the Dawn said, noting that Islamabad has "no dearth of resources to reverse the Indian plans to hinder the river.

India responds to Asim Munir's threats

Following the Pakistan Army chief making nuclear threats to India, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) condemned Asim Munir, stating New Delhi would not succumb to nuclear blackmail.

We have been alerted to comments attributed to the Pakistani Chief of Army Staff during a visit to the United States. India has already communicated that it will not succumb to nuclear blackmail. We will keep pursuing all measures required to ensure our national security, the MEA stated.

Maneka Gandhi on Supreme Court order on stray dogs

Maneka Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP0 leader and known animal rights activist, noted animal rights activist, called the Supreme Court’s order on stray dogs in Delhi-NCR a very strange judgment, coming from someone who is in anger. The Supreme Court has ruled to make all localities free of stray dogs. The apex court also directed the states and municipal authorities to create dog shelters with sufficient staff to sterilise and immunise them.

It is not a feasible order. This is such an odd ruling by someone who is angry. Angry rulings are never reasonable, Maneka Gandhi was told to have said by ANI.

Maneka Gandhi also pointed out that there is no government-run dog shelter in Delhi where the stray dogs would be housed. There is no single government-run shelter in Delhi.

In how many shelters would you keep 3 lakh dogs? You don't even have one.

She also threatened huge logistical, financial, and social problems, the necessity of thousands of new buildings, and the risk of street battles between authorities and dog feeders.

To construct those shelters, you need to spend at least ₹15 thousand crore. You'll need to identify 3000 locations for shelters where no one resides.

How will you locate these numerous places?. This cannot be achieved in two months. You will have to hire 1.5 lakh people to simply work as sanitation workers, which will again cost crores. First, when they go and fetch the dogs, there will be street fights because feeders won't let the dogs leave. There will be a fight every day. Do we want this destabilisation scenario? Political parties other than the BJP will join in to criticize the BJP.

More dogs from the surrounding states will be brought into Delhi, and the population of the capital city will double.

When the dogs of this place are displaced, dogs from surrounding states will arrive in Delhi, as it will be more bountiful here. Then within a week, there will be another 3 lakh dogs in Delhi, and those will also not be sterilised. Then will you launch another sterilisation programme and invest hundreds of crores again? she questioned.
